Reception on the occasion of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor (29 January 2026)

On 29 January, Ambassador IWAMA Kiminori hosted a reception to celebrate the Birthday of His Majesty the Emperor, attended by many distinguished guests, including Her Excellency Dr. Vjosa OSMANI-SADRIU, President of the Republic of Kosovo, cabinet ministers, government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, and prominent figures from the academic sector.
Following performances of the national anthems of Japan and Kosovo by the Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra, Ambassador IWAMA delivered remarks highlighting the significant progress in bilateral relations during the year 2025, citing events such as Kosovo’s participation in the Osaka-Kansai EXPO, President Osmani’s visit to Japan, and the awarding of a Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Prishtina to Professor OWADA Hisashi, former President of the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
During the reception, guests experienced Japanese cuisine, including a sushi demonstration by the Ambassador’s chef, and enjoyed Japanese sake and whisky. The event provided an opportunity to celebrate Japanese culture and strengthen the bonds between the two countries.
