Ambassador Iwama’s Visit to Kosovo: Doctor Honoris Causa Ceremony for Professor OWADA Hisashi (June 16–20, 2025)

From June 16 to 20, 2025, Ambassador IWAMA visited Kosovo. On June 18, he attended the ceremony at the University of Pristina, where Professor OWADA Hisashi, former diplomat and a judge of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), was awarded Doctor Honoris Causa (Honorary Doctorate of Law ).
To mark this occasion, and following the recent visit of H.E. President Vjosa OSMANI to Japan, Ambassador IWAMA hosted a reception. The event gathered numerous distinguished guests, such as Care-taker Prime Minister Mr.Albin KURTI and the Head of the Constitutional Court Mr. Nexhmi REXHEPI. The reception served as a valuable opportunity to further strengthen the ties between Japan and Kosovo.
On June 19, Ambassador Iwama accompanied Professor Owada on courtesy calls to H.E. President OSMANI and Care-taker Prime Minister Mr.KURTI. Both leaders warmly congratulated Professor OWADA on his receipt of Doctor Honoris Causa.
