GGP Signing Ceremony for a Mine Clearance Project has been held (20 February 2025)

On 20 February 2025, the Grant Contract for the Mine Clearance Project under the Japanese Government’s Grant Assistance for Grass Roots and Human Security Projects (GGP) have been signed. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Keisuke YAMANAKA, the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Japan in Kosovo; Mr. SALLOVA, the Director of Kosovo Mine Action Centre of the Ministry of Defense; Mr. NIELSEN, the National Director of the Norweigian People’s Aid Kosovo and his project members.
“The Project for the Mine Clearance in Mitrovica and Gracanica Municipalities” with the amount of 198,266 euros.
This project aims to eliminate landmines and cluster munition remnants from 26.48 hectares of Bajgora Village in Mitrovica Municipality and Livagje Village in Gracanica Municipality, ensuring the safety and improving the living conditions of the residents in the areas. In addition, the project will promote economic development of the regions by enabling the communities to access agricultural and grazing lands.
