Ambassador Ryuta MIZUUCHI visited Kosovo (27-29 September 2024)

On September 27, 2024, Ambassador Ryuta Mizuuchi visited Kosovo. As the first event, he presented the Foreign Minister's Commendation to Mr. Toshio Yanagisawa, the Chief Conductor of the Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2007, Mr. Yanagisawa has made significant contributions to the development of the Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra and has played a pivotal role in fostering musical exchanges between Japan, the Balkan region and other countries. In recognition of his dedication, the Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra also awarded Mr. Yanagisawa the prestigious Kosovo Philharmonic Gold Medal.
On the same day, Ambassador Mizuuchi had a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Kreshnik Ahmeti and exchanged views on Japan-Kosovo bilateral relations and regional situation. In the evening, the Ambassador attended the opening concert of the Kosovo Philharmonic's new season, conducted by Mr. Yanagisawa.
The following day on September 28, Ambassador Mizuuchi visited Gracanica, where he made a courtesy call to Mayor Ms. Liljana Subaric and toured the municipality, including Gracanica Monastery and St. Demetrius Church in the village of Shushica. Later, he traveled to Mitrovica, where he toured the city and visited the Hirano Mushroom Factory (Japanese investment).
