Signing Ceremony for GGP 2021 “The Project for Providing Mammogram Equipment for the Main Centre of Family Medicine in Kamenica, Southeast Kosovo” has been held (15 December 2021)

On December 15th 2021, the grant contract for a project under the Japanese Government’s Grant Assistance for Grass Roots and Human Security Projects (GGP) has been signed. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Mitsunori OGASAWARA, Charge d’Affaires of the Japanese Embassy in Kosovo, Ms. Atifete JAHJAGA, Former President of Kosovo, Ms. Dafina Gexha BUNJAKU, Deputy Minister of Health, Mr. Kadri RAHIMAJ, Mayor of Kamenica Municipality, Ms. Brikena AVDYLI, Executive Director of Jahjaga Foundation and people involved in this project.
“The Project for Providing Mammogram Equipment for the Main Centre of Family Medicine in Kamenica, Southeast Kosovo” with the total amount of 61,550 euros.
The project aims to increase the breast cancer screening uptake rate among the residents of Kamenica and neighboring municipalities, including Novobrdo, Ranillug, and Gjilan by providing one mammogram equipment to the Main Family Medicine Center in Kamenica, thereby contributing to the early detection of breast cancer in Southeast Kosovo. The expected beneficiaries are around 22,600 women in the region.
