On August 26th 2021, Handover Ceremony of “The Project for Providing Medical Equipment for Healthcare for Mothers and Children in Kosovo” has been held and the Charge d’ Affaires of the Japanese Embassy in Kosovo, Mr. Mitsunori OGASAWARA and Director of University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCCK) Dr. Krasniqi, Head of Communication Division of the Ministry of Health Dr. Hoti and Executive Director of Action for Mothers and Children Head of Communication Division Mr. Molliqaj attended the ceremony.
The objective of the project was to improve maternal and child health service in Kosovo by providing medical equipment. Through this project, in total of two Transport Incubators for newborn babies were installed at Regional Hospital of Gjakova and Regional Hospital of Mitrovica, and in total of three Trinocular Microscopes were provided to UCCK, Regional Hospital of Gjilan and Regional Hospital of Prizren. It is expected that 3,300 mothers and children would be directly benefiting from the project by receiving emergency transport for newborns and cervical cancer testing services for women.
