On October 3, the inauguration of the “Shinzo ABE” Park, located in the center of Pristina, has been held. It was named in honor of the late former Prime Minister Shinzo ABE's dedication to Kosovo and the Western Balkans. The ceremony was attended by the mayor of Pristina, Mr. Perparim RAMA, Ambassador Mr. Ryuta MIZUUCHI, and partners of Japan.
Mr. ABE initiated “Western Balkans Cooperation Initiative” in January 2018 to support socio-economic reforms and facilitate ethnic reconciliation of the Western Balkans. With the initiative, Japan accelerated its support to the Western Balkans by strengthening bilateral relations through newly established embassies, appointment of an Ambassador in charge of the Western Balkans affairs, and facilitating the regional cooperation by sharing Japan’s knowledge and experience on the common issues in the region.
We hope that the park will be a place of rest and relaxation for citizens and promote cordial relationships between the people of both countries.
